Twitter and other observations

Is it me or does any new technology soon get abused.  I personally think that Twitter is an excellent idea - most of us don't always have half an hour to type out a full blog post and its a good half way house between a blog and instant messenger.  But depressingly it seems these new innovations are soon exploited by scammers and other unscrupulous users of the internet.

I like Facebook, but I am irritated by the number of adverts on there and the fact I can't tell the adverts from the applications.  Stupid.
